Inter House Athletics Championships 2019

The standings at the moment are


Boyndie            384 points

The senior S5 and S6 sports will take place this morning and COMPETITORS ONLY should get changed and meet in the Games Hall.  All other S5 and S6 pupils should follow their timetable.


S2 – S4 pupils should also follow their timetable.


Period 6 – All S2 – S4 pupils should attend P6 class then go out to spectate.  Relay runners should meet in the centre of the track.


Perid 7 – Trophy Presentation Ceremony -  At the end of this all S2 – S6 pupils should return to their P7 class where registration will take place

School Uniform Reminder

Can all senior pupils ensure they have purchased / leased a blazer for the forthcoming academic year. Blazers can be purchased online from www.academyuniformsltd.co.uk at a cost of £32.00 or they can be leased from the school office at a cost of £10.


S6 pupils

Could all pupils who sat the Higher Biology, Chemistry or Physics exam, please return their textbook to their Teacher as soon as possible, and by Friday, 14th of June at the latest?  These are now needed by the new classes.  Thank you.

English Books

If you have any National 5 or Higher English books you must return them to the English department as soon as possible. Please ensure that you hand in any ‘Sailmaker’, ‘The Great Gatsby’ or ‘To Kill A Mockingbird’ books as these will need to be used with the new classes.  Thank you in advance for your help.

School Show Tickets

Tickets are now on sale for the school show production of ‘Rock of Ages’.  They will be sold in the foyer at lunchtimes and cost £6 adult, £4 child under 16.  Family package £14.50.




Could all pupils who have a locker please ensure that they are emptied and keys handed back to the School Office no later than 4pm on Wednesday 12th June.  If you have already paid and completed a form to keep the same locker you do not have to hand back your key nor empty your locker.  If you have paid for a new locker you should empty it and will receive your new key/combination in August.  Anyone who has lost their key should pay £3.00 at the School Office.

Senior Choir

Senior choir has started again in T103 on a Monday and Thursday lunchtime (please note the change of day). Bring your lunch along. All S4-6 pupils welcome.

Battlefields 2020

If you are interested in going on the WW1 Battlefields Trip to Belgium and France in May 2020 please attend a short information meeting in T405 with Miss Johnston at break time on Friday 21st June. The trip is open to all CURRENT S3-S5 but please be aware this will be taking place at the end of the SQA exam diet.

S5/6 Pupils – moving files to Glow

Please make sure you have moved all files from your documents on your computer account to Glow OneDrive. All files in ‘My Documents’ will be deleted as of Thursday 13th June. If you need help moving files please see any of the staff in Business and Computing, or Mrs Paterson.


MVP Lunchtime/Break support

If you need any support with issues and you want to talk to an MVP mentor then please go to U6 in the ASL corridor and we will have mentor there ready to help during lunchtimes or break.

Pupils Attending NESCOL on a Friday

A bus has been booked to take pupils down to NESCOL Fraserburgh Campus on a Friday morning.

  • Bus leaves Banff Academy Bus Lane at 8.30 am – please arrive punctually
  • Please ensure you take Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) if applicable for your course
  • Either bring a packed lunch or money to purchase lunch from the NESCOL cafeteria

Library Information

Borrowing books from the library- it's now compulsory to have your National entitlement card/ Young Scot card to borrow books from the library.  For Data Protection reasons all Aberdeenshire Libraries users must have their library card to use the services and borrow books.  If you have forgotten your card or need it replaced see Mr Henderson.


NPLQ Course (16 and overs only)

The Deveron Centre is wanting to run a National Pool Lifeguarding Qualification from Monday 15th to Saturday 20th July at the Deveron Centre.  This is the qualification you require if you wish to work at the Deveron Centre as a Lifeguard.  The course is open to anyone over the age of 16 and costs £258.75.  It’s a great course as you can work at any leisure centre with it.  To put your name down or to get more information please see Deveron Centre reception desk.  Mr Milne
