Learn more about us and how can we help you:

The Humanities department at Banff Academy offers an integrated S1 Social Studies course comprising Geography, History, Modern Studies and RMPS. We also offer Scottish Studies to all S1 pupils. In S2 pupils attend Geography, History and Modern Studies on rotation. At the end of S2 pupils choose which subject(s) they wish to continue with into S3. They can also choose Scottish Studies in S3. Pupils at Banff Academy also receive core RMPS throughout the Broad General Education.

Over the course of S1-3 pupils work through CfE levels 3 and 4 in order to develop the skills necessary to move on to National level courses.

We currently offer the following National courses:

National 4/5* : Geography, History, Modern Studies, RMPS, Scottish Studies,  Scots Language and Travel & Tourism.

Higher : Geography, History, Modern Studies, Politics, RMPS, Scottish Studies, and Scots Language.

Advanced Higher : Geography, History and Modern Studies.

*National 2 and 3 Social Studies courses are on offer for those studying a Flexible Learning Pathway, or working towards individual milestones.
